Reconcile a Statement Line that Doesn’t Quite Match a Transaction
You can reconcile a bank statement that does not quite match a transaction in Clickentry. This mismatch may be due to a bank fee or small rounding error.
Add a Bank Fee Adjustment When Reconciling
In case a statement line includes a fee, for example cash handling then you can add a bank fee adjustment while you are reconciling.
- In the Accounts menu, select the Bank accounts.
- Click on the Reconcile xx items link for the bank account you want to reconcile.
- Click on the Find & Match link for the bank statement line that includes a bank fee.
- Select the checkbox next to the transaction you want to match.
- Click on the Adjustment dropdown button and select the Bank Fee option.
- Enter the required information in the bank fee details. The bank fee amount is the difference between the statement line and the selected transaction in Clickentry.
- Click on the Reconcile button.
Add a Minor Reconciliation Adjustment
In case a statement line doesn’t quite match a transaction in Clickentry due to rounding or human error then you can create a minor adjustment when reconciling it.
A minor adjustment transaction post is used to reconcile an adjustment to the system rounding account.
- In the Accounts menu, select the Bank accounts.
- Click on the Reconcile xx items link for the bank account you want to reconcile.
- Click on the Find & Match link for the relevant bank statement line.
- Select the checkbox next to the transaction you want to match
- Click on the Adjustment dropdown button and select the Minor Adjustment option.
- Enter the adjustment amount and then click on Reconcile button.
You can view the reconciliation adjustment in the Account Transactions tab for the relevant bank account.
