Edit the Exchange Rate for a Date, Date Range or Transaction

In Clickentry, you can edit a foreign currency exchange rate on a transaction and foreign currency exchange rate for a particular date or date range.

If you don’t need to change the exchange rate for all upcoming transactions on a particular date then Clickentry suggests you update the rate on the individual transaction instead.

Edit the Exchange Rate on a transaction

  • You can update the exchange rate on transactions created in Clickentry. These transactions include a new or unpaid invoice, bill or credit note, on a new or pending quote or purchase order, or on a spend or receive money transaction.
  • You may need to update the rate if a transaction is made for a future date or if there is a specific rate from your bank that you need to match to a payment.
  • You must have the user role of the adviser, standard or invoice only user to update an exchange rate.

To edit the exchange rate on a transaction:

  1. Either you can add a new transaction, or find and open an existing transaction you’d like to update. For an existing transaction, you have to select to edit the transaction.
  1. Click on the Update Exchange Rates for transactions like invoices, bills, credit notes, spend money, or receive money transactions.
  1. Enter the new exchange rate in the box. Clickentry allows you to add up to 6 decimal points.
  1. (Optional) Select the checkbox (Apply to all new transactions for the period) if you want this exchange rate to be applied to all new transactions on this date.
  1. Click on the Save button.

In case you edit the date of the transaction then Clickentry will automatically change the exchange rate to the applicable XE rate for the updated date.
